Guided Ski Touring in South of Lyngen Norway

Explore Lyngen South with IFMGA qualified mountain- and ski guide.

Guided ski touring Lyngen south

Lyngen Alps has become known as one of the most beautiful and unique ski touring destinations in the world. For most skiers this refers to the northern half of the Lyngen peninsula.

For almost 20 years we have also visited the less known half of Lyngen Alps. In particular the Lakselvtind mountains in the south of Lyngen.

There are few guided groups in the area, and it offers a truly fantastic terrain for ski touring and ski mountaineering.

Lyngen South Skiing Experince

Ski touring among the highest peaks in Lyngen, the objectives are bigger and many summits are more demanding than in the north.

We seldom have other skiers around, and get to experience the tranquil solitude a true nature of the arctic.

Long and steep couloirs are offered to the expert skier. We also find open slopes and lower angle terrain.

We still get views of the sea, ski in the magic day light of the far north, and admire the aurora borealis in clear evenings.

Skiing terrain

From our house we can reach all the peaks on the southern part of the Lyngen peninsula, as well areas on Tromsö mainland.

On a day of ski touring we might ascend anything between 500 and 1800hm, depending on what you wish to do. The majority of the ascents are typically skinning, but often with a section on boots and crampons towards the summit ridges. Descent options are often numerous and can be adapted to your wishes.

Our decisions of skiing route and which summits to climb are based on group ability, avalanche safety, weather and snow conditions.

Your mountain- & ski guide

As a company we have 25 years of experience guiding ski touring in Lyngen. We were among the first skiers to explore this area on a regular basis, when Lyngen was still completely unknown for ski touring.

All guides working with us are IFMGA qualified and have very good knowledge of the area. Conditions vary a lot locally and choosing the right location for your day of touring will make a huge difference to your experience. We are good at avoiding crowds, and optimise safety while skiing fun terrain. We take great pride in finding the best possible snow conditions each day.
