The village of Henningsvaer on Lofoten, well above the arctic circle in northern Norway.

Celebrations of the marriage between our guide Jimmy and Petra brings us all the way up here to the land of the midnight sun.

The partying involves lots of music, beer and Bacalo at the Climbing Café in Henningsvaer.

Our first encounters with the solid granite is on the Gandalf wall. Wolfgang on the classic Gamle Räv.

Me on the second pitch. The cracks are lined up next to each other on this 150m high wall and it is all naturally protected.

After climbing we catch our dinner. Small cods like this one goes back in though.

However most days during our two weeks on Lofoten looks like this... rain, wind and more horizontal rain...

Luckily the rock dries instantly after rainfall and the days here has 24 hours, so vi can always fit in some bouldering between the showers.

The bouldering has all sorts of climbing, even cracks.

The route Pan we start at 11 o'clock in the evening when it just cleared up.

Fine and challenging cracks.

On the top we get midnight views of Henningsvaer.

Then we hurry down before the thunder is upon us again, but the night is just magic...

Our last day of climbing we spend at Pianokrakken.

We look back at Prästen, 600m of famous cracks and slabs, where we got rained off the other day. One day we'll be back to finish it.

Still we wonder how the fish can ever dry in this
climate...??
